School Disco – ‘Sunset Safari’

The school disco was a fantastic success with lots of students and teachers going wild in the ‘Sunset Safari’. It was great seeing so many of our students having fun and dancing at our F-2, 3-4, and 5-6 disco this week. Thank you to all the parents/ carers who helped out in the lead-up and on the day; also, a big thanks to the staff who took time away from their families and personal lives to contribute to such an awesome event. We really do have a brilliant community here at McKinnon PS which is always evident at these events.

Playground Construction

The new playground project is progressing well as old equipment is being removed in preparation for our new equipment to be installed. We are now able to open up the Tucker Rd main gates for before and after school again. Thank you for your patience.

Below is a final design of the equipment that will be placed in the adventure playground. The image is just of the equipment. All the existing volcanic rocks, trees, plants etc that we are keeping will be strategically placed around the equipment.

IMPORTANT NEW ENROLMENT PROCESS AT ALL VICTORIAN GOVERNMENT SCHOOLS

New state-wide processes mean that a shorter application form with proof for evidence of address must be given to the school prior to being offered an enrolment form to complete. Families can only be given enrolment forms once sufficient evidence proves their address.

For families living within the McKinnon Primary School Zone, there is no change to the boundary for 2024/2025. Please see the school boundary on https://www.findmyschool.vic.gov.au/

However, all Foundation 2025 application forms must be submitted to the school by Friday 26th July 2024. Please see our school website for further details.

SECURITY OVER THE HOLIDAYS

If you do notice anything untoward happening on the school grounds over the holidays, can you please call the police on 000 immediately.

As we finish up the end of term, we would just like to say a big thank you to the teachers and the Education Support staff for their contribution and their continued desire to reflect and refine what they do, to make a difference to the community they work with. Thank you to our wider community who have continued to support the school and their children through the various school events as we all.

Hoping you all have a wonderful, relaxing break and we look forward to seeing you all back on Monday 15th July.
